VDOE Engineering Level I Cohort for elementary teachers

The Virginia Department of Education is excited to announce the final Engineering Level I Cohort for elementary teachers. The level I cohort introduced teachers to engineering design and focuses on the use of authentic engineering problems as a way for students to apply and reinforce concepts in the science, mathematics, and computer science standards. 

The cohort meeting dates are May 2, 9, 23, and 30, and June 6 & 20, 2023. The sessions are virtual and meet from 4 p.m.-5:45 p.m. on the dates indicated. 

Each selected participant is expected to attend all sessions and submit a team-designed lesson in order to receive a $250 stipend.
