About us:

About us: The Northern Virginia STEM Learning Network was established by Virginia Tech in 2007 as an informal network of STEM educators. It became a formal part of the DMV Ecosystem in 2021 until that ecosystem grant expired in 2024. In October 2025 we received national recognition of our ecosystem and were now building the architecture to accomplish our goals. Please join us.

Arlington's Key Elementary Team off to World Finals

FS 908 - Odyssey of the Mind - Send our team to the World Finals

Seven 4th Graders from Arlington County’s Key Elementary School won 1st Prize in the Virginia State Odyssey of the Mind Competition on April 13, 2013. They advance to the World Finals being held at Michigan State University from May 22-25. Over 900 teams from more than 35 countries are expected to compete.

Odyssey of the Mind is a team-work, problem-solving, creative-thinking program. Students work together for months to solve a long-term problem and learn spontaneous problem-solving skills.

The advancing team is composed of Grace Danaceau, Malva de Boor, Lily Dropkin, Jackson Gray, Avery O’Kane, Joshua Rosenberg, and Anna Wood. They are coached by Geneva Moores.

The team needs to raise approximately $10,000 for their upcoming trip. All money raised will support the Odyssey of the Mind program.

Your contribution is tax deductible and any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated!!
